- I wrote a rather rudimentary "fractal" image compression program
- for my Amiga a few years back in AmigaBASIC (would you believe that!). It
- was not a "true" fractal-image compression program as it did not compress
- as well but it was non-lossy (no image degredation!) and it DID beat out
- LHA. The problem is that I have since discovered that I had inadvertently
- violated who knows how many software patents (good thing I never
- distributed it!).

- If you like, I'll ask Dr. Barnsley (holder of half the patents I
- "violated") if he'll let me release this program. He used to be a
- professor where I go to school now (Georgia Tech) & I hear he
- occasionally comes back and visits.... (I wouldn't mind getting his
- autograph as well....)
