  25.     I wrote a rather rudimentary "fractal" image compression program
  26. for my Amiga a few years back in AmigaBASIC (would you believe that!). It
  27. was not a "true" fractal-image compression program as it did not compress
  28. as well but it was non-lossy (no image degredation!) and it DID beat out
  29. LHA. The problem is that I have since discovered that I had inadvertently
  30. violated who knows how many software patents (good thing I never
  31. distributed it!).

  33.     If you like, I'll ask Dr. Barnsley (holder of half the patents I
  34. "violated") if he'll let me release this program. He used to be a
  35. professor where I go to school now (Georgia Tech) & I hear he
  36. occasionally comes back and visits.... (I wouldn't mind getting his
  37. autograph as well....)
